Welcome to the 2023-2024 School Year Lincoln Lion Cubs!
Greetings Parents/Guardians,
I am pleased to welcome each of you to our Bellwood Early Childhood Center (ECC) for the 2023-2024 School Year. If you are returning, or if this is your first year, you and your child/children will be joining us for one of the best years of academic, developmental growth, social emotional learning, excitement, and fun.
Preschool years are extremely important in a child’s life because these are the foundational years. Research shows that students who attend preschool programs are more prepared for school and more likely to be successful in elementary school and beyond. We want to make sure all our students are prepared for success!
The first day of preschool for ECC is Monday, August 28, 2023. Preschool screening for new students begins the week of August 21, 2023. There will be an evening Virtual Parent Orientation on Zoom Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at 6:00 PM; a link will be sent to all registered parents/guardians. Also, there will be an In-Person Orientation for all registered parents/guardians on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Please check your Parents’ Calendar and Seesaw for specific details regarding events at our school. During these events, you will receive resources and information that will give you a thorough overview of how the pre-kindergarten program is structured.
On behalf of Assistant Principal, Mrs. Ovedje, and the entire Bellwood Early Childhood Center Teachers and Staff, we are looking forward to working with all of you for the benefits of our children as they gain the necessary foundational skills to prepare them to become lifelong learners and work to their fullest potentials.
We are a Free, “Gold Circle of Quality Rated” Pre-Kindergarten Program!
If you have not enrolled your child/children, call our office (708) 410-3701, or come by the office to pick up an application at 3519 Wilcox in Bellwood, IL, and complete the registration online. On the Bellwood SD88 Preschool website, you will find helpful information about the Free Preschool for All Program. Please tell other Parents; we have more openings.

Bellwood School District 88's Early Childhood Center at Lincoln Primary School offers a phenomenal and Gold Circle of Quality-Rated free Preschool for All Program that is available to preschoolers throughout the Proviso Township Community.
We currently have openings in our preschool classrooms and offer both AM and PM Sessions at both the Lincoln Primary and Grant Primary location. Each classroom is supported by a classroom paraprofessional, and the program is offered free of charge to parents.
Our program is predicated on the Jean Piaget premise that preschool aged students learn best through play. Therefore, intentional play is entrenched throughout our daily activities.To enroll, parents should:
- Stop by Lincoln Primary to pick up and complete a Preschool Enrollment Packet. At this time, new students will also receive a Screening Appointment.
- Finally, parents should visit the Registration Page to begin the registration process. Please engage our helpful registration tutorial (at right), which is offered in both English and Spanish to assist in this capacity.
